Caramoor’s mission is to enrich the lives of audiences through innovative and diverse musical performances of the highest quality, mentor young professional musicians, and engage children through interactive educational experiences that deepen their relationship to and understanding of music. These three fundamentals — music performance, musician mentoring, and music education — infuse all aspects of Caramoor’s work. Recognized for its rich and storied history, the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is a leading cultural center in the New York metropolitan region and is known as a “year-round powerhouse of cultural activity” (BBC Music Magazine). True to the vision of its founders, Walter and Lucie Rosen, Caramoor is a place where visitors can be refreshed and renewed by the convergence of an exciting mix of exceptional and diverse live music performances, the beauty of an art-filled historic home, and spectacular gardens and grounds. Located on an 80-acre campus in Katonah, New York, Caramoor annually presents more than 60 live performances, featuring a wide range of genres. Audiences are invited to explore the lush grounds, tour the historic Rosen House, enjoy a pre-concert picnic, and discover beautiful music in the relaxed settings of the Venetian Theater, Spanish Courtyard, Music Room, and Friends Field. Caramoor also helps to train the next generation of classical musicians and provides free-of-charge music-based arts education to local schoolchildren.
"We are seeking a collaborative leader who will join me in building a strong and joyful culture of philanthropy — one that resonates with our mission and ensures Caramoor’s vitality for generations to come. This is a tremendous opportunity to make a lasting impact, not only on our institution, but on the lives of those we serve through the transformative power of music." — Gillian Fox, President and Chief Executive Officer
