With thriving academic and research excellence and a welcoming student experience, the University of South Carolina brings the opportunities of higher education to new generations. USC's unrivaled college experience has been sought by students, faculty, and academic researchers for more than 200 years. The University of South Carolina System, led by President Michael Amiridis who is serving as the university’s 30th President, has eight campuses in 20 locations that together serve more than 55,000 students. The Carnegie Foundation has recognized USC with top classification — R1 university — for “very high research activity.” In addition, USC is one of the few public universities that has also earned Elective Community Engagement Classification, a prestigious designation recognizing universities with strong community relationships. This remarkable level of research enterprise is one reason USC researchers attracted $309 million in sponsored awards in FY24 in areas ranging from instruction to academics to public service.
"At a time when institutions of higher education are facing enrollment and financial challenges, as well as eroding public trust, the University of South Carolina is building momentum, experiencing record high student applications, investing in renovations of historic buildings, and building new facilities. The Lead Senior Director of Development for the McCausland College of Arts & Sciences will be leading the largest academic unit on the USC campus, working across a broad spectrum of academic disciplines as well as secure support for university-wide priorities in partnership with Dean Samuels, department chairs, and university development staff." — Laurel Walker, Assistant Vice President for Development, Colleges, and Units
